Haley Coolbaugh is an experienced paralegal who joined the Bonjean Law Group in January 2020 after a successful 5-year career as a freelance paralegal. Haley has assisted civil rights and criminal defense attorneys in both state and federal courts across the United States including NY, NJ, IL, PA, and DE.
At the Bonjean Law Group, Haley assists Bonjean and Cohen in all aspects of case management, including discovery review, maintenance and organization, assisting in legal research, attending court appearances and depositions, and conducting client intake. Haley also aids Bonjean and Cohen during hearings and trials with documents, exhibits and digital presentations.
Haley’s unusual path into the legal field began when her father was federally indicted on criminal charges in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Haley was actively involved in her father’s case and worked with his legal team in Philadelphia to prepare his defense by assisting with legal research and trial preparation and drafting pre-trial motions. Through this experience, Haley quickly realized she had what it took to pursue a career as a paralegal due to her uncanny organizational skills, diligence, incredible attention to detail and most importantly, her appreciation for the law. She also realized how important it was for the accused to have dedicated and competent representation.
Haley was drawn to the Bonjean Law Group because of their client-centered approach which focuses primarily on the needs and success of their clients. Haley understands how crucial it is to have a strong, dedicated team that views their clients as more than just another case number. Her personal experience with the justice system provides her insight into the difficult realities of incarceration and gives her a unique ability to empathize with the clients and their families.
